A New Cover Song Every Day of the Year? Celebrating the Halfway Point
This press release is intended to announce and commemorate the halfway point of the "session-a-day" project and its goals, as laid out by the contributors to the Laptop Sessions music blog.
/Music PR News/ - MERIDEN, CT, July 03, 2008 - The first day of July is a month of celebrations " Fourth of July picnics, trips to the beach, kids happy to be out of school. For the Laptop Sessions music blog, July 1st marked the halfway point of a year-long goal known as the session-a-day project.
The session-a-day project is a commitment " a challenge, really " to post a new cover song video each day of the year. Since 2008 is a leap year, this means that there will be 366 videos by New Year s Eve. The videos are recorded, edited, and posted individually by the three songwriters signed to Fusco-Moore Productions, a Meriden, CT based production company.
Whose idea was this, again? Laptop Sessions contributor Jim Fusco has been known to ask, particularly after realizing that it is his day to post.
It s amazing how quickly that third day comes around, and you ask yourself, Didn t I just post a video? songwriter Chris Moore said.
It is no wonder that there is a sense of accomplishment at the halfway point, as the contributors often push themselves to experiment with new artists and new music that they have not played before. There have already been Laptop Sessions devoted to:
- Fifties artists like Ricky Nelson and the King himself, Elvis Presley
- Sixties music, including the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Beach Boys
- Seventies hits such as the Eagles Best of My Love
- Eighties hit bands, such as the Cars and R.E.M.
- Nineties rock music, like Only Wanna Be With You and One Week
- New music, several songs posted before the albums were even released for sale!
