Live at the Lake Summer Concert Series Returns to Texas Hill Country
Lakeway Resort and Spa has partnered with 107.1 FM KGSR to create the second annual Live at the Lake Summer Concert Series. For 12 weeks this summer, KGSR will take music to the lake in a distinct poolside venue, hosting some of the best of the Austin music scene on Sunday evenings.
/Music PR News/ - AUSTIN, Texas, July 10, 2008 - Lakeway Resort and Spa has again partnered with 107.1 KGSR to create the second annual Live at the Lake Summer Concert Series. For twelve weeks this summer, KGSR will take music to the lake in a distinctive poolside venue provided by Lakeway Resort.
The 2008 series begins June 1st and continues every Sunday through August 24th (with the exception of July 6th). KGSR will host some of the best of the Austin music scene on Sunday evenings, featuring a new artist each week. The well known radio station has a reputation for its legendary concert series such as Unplugged at Shady Grove and Blues on the Green. Live at the Lake, in turn, has quickly become another Lakeway Resort signature event and a new tradition that is talked about all over Austin.
Last year, over 15,000 people relaxed in the multiple tiered Lakeway Resort pools and cabanas. Guests enjoyed dinner and drinks while being treated to a wonderful sunset over Lake Travis and the sounds of artists such as Bob Schneider, Grupo Fantasma, and The Gourds, to name a few. This year's line-up is sure to be as entertaining. Booked by Austin's Marsha Milam, talent currently scheduled includes Carolyn Wonderland, Guy Forsyth, Fastball, Jimmy LaFave, Seth Walker, and to debut the series, the returning Bob Schneider.
Continual inquiries came into the Resort as to whether the event was going to return a second year. Coinciding with demand, the management team felt committed to supporting the local Austin music scene by hosting this free concert series again. "Event planning is our forte," says Director of Sales and Marketing, Michael Swyney. "With the amount of experience we have in planning large scale events and the available setting at our property, we were a natural fit for the series. Most importantly, our staff is proud to be able to provide a nearby venue for such a myriad of talent to perform for residents of greater Austin and Texas Hill Country." With musical talent set against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Travis, the Resort offers the ideal venue for this one of a kind showcase.
General Event Information
Gates open no earlier than 4:00pm and only the first 1,200 guests will be admitted. Concert will begin at 6:00pm and continue through sunset until approximately 8:00pm. Concessions will be available, including a variety of food, beer, wine, and frozen margaritas. Parking is available on-site at the resort, including valet parking at $20 and self parking at $10. Complimentary parking lots are located at Live Oak Golf Course and Lakeway City Hall with shuttles to and from the concert provided by the resort.
Sponsorships and rentals are also available per event or on a full series basis, for designated cabanas, lounges, and tables.
